Made To Order Items

Made to order products are pieces that have not yet been made and production on these pieces will start once an order is placed. This allows me to work on new collections and still be able to offer my best selling, permanent pieces when the interest for them may arise. Please allow a longer processing time for these orders to ship. Made to order items typically ship within 2-3 weeks.

Products will state whether they are ready to wear or made to order in the item description along with processing times. Please read item descriptions carefully and please be aware this small business is ran by one woman.

Ready To Wear Items

Ready to wear products are pieces that have already been made and are ready to be shipped quicker than made to order items. Minor sizing adjustments can be made to these pieces by selecting the size. Ready to wear items are typically shipped within 1-2 weeks however if there are no size adjustments to be made, we aim to ship the next working day.

Ready to wear pieces are made continuously throughout the year as part of different collections and there is usually only one of them. If you would like a previous ready to wear item to be remade for you, please contact us via Instagram for a custom and we will be happy to help!

What sizes do you offer?

We believe that size inclusivity is a necessity, not an option. We offer a wide range of sizes including custom sizes.

All necklaces and bracelets will come with an adjustment length chain so that you can customise how you want to wear your jewellery. We offer multiple sizes on our products and you can view these sizes by selecting with the size menu when ordering. sizes are measured in inches.

Please be aware that chainmail requires a lot of maths to create, some weaves may cause a few centimetre or millimetre difference due to how they are made. We ensure that we accurately measure sizes and will always do our best to accommodate to all sizing needs.

Ready to wear pieces have already been made when they are available online, to be shipped as soon as possible. Due to this, we offer minor size adjustments on the extension chain of your jewellery. If you would like a ready to wear piece however you require a smaller or larger size throughout the whole piece, feel free to contact us on Instagram for a custom remake and we will be happy to do this for you!

Made to order pieces can be fully size customisable, throughout the entire piece and adjustment chain.

Please ensure to read the sizes correctly on the menu when ordering and please contact us if you require any additional sizing help!

How do I order a custom piece?

To order a custom piece, please message us directly on our Instagram. The link of our Instagram can be found on the Contact Us page.

We will need: the item you would like a custom of, budget if applicable, sizing details, and reference photos. Please note we will never directly recreate another person's art or another custom piece as they often have sentimental meaning.

Our current turnover time for custom pieces is 6-8 weeks. we understand this is a long time to wait however your pieces are handwoven with love by one person. Please ensure if your custom is needed for an event that you give plenty of time for creation and shipping.

We require consistent and clear communication during the process of your custom, this is very important to ensure your piece is created in a timely manner and allow time for more customs as we often open only a few slots at a time.

When you message your request, we will come up with a sketch design for you. Once a design is agreed upon we ask for a 50% non-refundable deposit to ensure your slot and cover the cost of materials. The rest of payment can be made when you are happy with your design before shipping.

Custom pieces are non-refundable due to the bespoke nature. A refund may be offered in extenuating circumstances, discretionary by Chained Figment.

We reserve the right to refuse customs if we feel they will not be executed perfectly by us and we will try our best to point you in the right direction if necessary.

Customs are always an absolute pleasure to work on, we love to create your dream piece and we look forward to all future projects!

Where is my order?

Made to Order and Ready to Wear items will have different processing times.

Please allow 2-3 weeks for your Made to Order piece to be shipped out. This is due to the production of the item starting once the sale has gone through.

Ready to Wear items are shipped much faster, usually within 1-2 weeks. If there are no size adjustments to be made, we aim to ship the next working day.

We ship via Royal Mail with tracking. You will receive an email including your tracking number and details. Due to current situations in the world, please allow time for your order to arrive. Royal Mail can sometimes take up to 2 weeks to deliver. If your order has not arrived after 2 weeks, please contact us immediately so we can try and rectify the situation!

We appreciate your patience and kindness as you wait for your new jewellery.

Do you ship internationally?

We ship to UK only through this website. We are based in Northern Ireland, therefore Northern Ireland is also included in our UK shipping.

International shipping includes Republic of Ireland, USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and Switzerland. I can only sell to these locations through my Etsy account which can be found below. This is due to shipping laws that are hard for small businesses like us to overcome.

We would love to be able to ship worldwide someday and this is something we are working towards!

Can I return/exchange items?

We have a 14 day returns policy from the day your order has arrived with you. If you need to return an item, please contact us using the form on the Contact Us page. We will do our absolute best to rectify any situation with the highest care, you matter to us!

Please be aware buyers must cover the cost of return shipping and items must be in their original condition. Your return request may be denied if items are intentionally damaged.

We do our best to ensure all items are of top quality however we understand that accidents happen! We offer repairs by contacting us through the form on the Contact Us page. Repairs are usually free of charge however if anything from your piece is lost or damaged to the point of needing a small replacement piece, we may require a small fee. Please send the item back to us after contacting us, include any small pieces in your package and we will happily fix your jewellery. Please be aware buyers must pay a small postage fee for sending the package back to us.

We currently do not offer exchanges, please contact us instead for a return.

How do I care for my jewellery?

Stainless steel: Most of our pieces are made with stainless steel unless otherwise stated. We chose this material due to its strength, hypoallergenic qualities and durability. Some pieces may have small parts and include semi-precious gems or pearls. We ask that you keep your jewellery away from salt and chlorinated water, handle with care and avoid harsh chemicals. If you ever need to clean your jewellery, please use fresh lukewarm water and a gentle, non-abrasive unscented soap with a soft brush. We find soft make up brushes are great for this!

Gold Plated: Our gold plated pieces have a base of stainless steel for strength and then coated in a thin layer of 14K, 16K or 18K gold for the lustrous gold colour. These pieces can often be slightly more fragile and require some extra care. Please ensure you keep these pieces stores separately to other jewellery, as to not damage the gold coating. Please also avoid harsh chemicals, salt or chlorinated water, and handle with care. Gold jewellery can tarnish over time but with proper care these pieces can last you for years to come!

Please note that when you are cleaning your jewellery, whether gold plated or stainless steel, it is important that you avoid any prolonged period of submersion in water and any moisture.

Is your jewellery safe?

We create our jewellery with the highest level of love and care!

We choose skin safe, hypoallergenic materials to ensure the health and safety of our customers. Please read item descriptions carefully for information on materials used and safety of specific products. Although we choose our materials with care, if you have a medical condition or specific skin condition at the site where your jewellery will be worn, we cannot guarantee there will be no reactions or interference. Eg, eczema on the wrist may be irritated by a bracelet if the bracelet continuously rubs against the area etc.

Our chainmaille is made with non-soldered rings. This means the rings have an opening point and this is how we attach them together to create different weaves. All rings are inspected to ensure there are no abnormalities or harsh edges which could potentially cause discomfort to the wearer.

Please ensure you do not wear our earrings in freshly pierced ears, please keep your new earrings for healed ears only! It is important to follow your professional piercer's aftercare and if you aren't sure, we encourage you to ask them when it will be safe to change your earrings!

Please ensure you order the correct size of necklace or bracelet and attach it comfortably around your neck or wrist. A good rule of thumb is to insert two fingers between your skin and jewellery to be sure you are not wearing it too tight.

Our jewellery is not suitable for small children due to the small parts included in some pieces. Although we ensure the greatest care and precision when creating our jewellery, accidents can happen and small parts may fall off if handled with force.
